The craft that so many of us are trying to master is not just about putting together a glass full of ice, liquor, syrup and a fancy garnish. The craft that started out of necessity is now much laureated and revered. With ingredient count mostly limited to tips of fingers of one hand, it becomes even more difficult to make each ingredient shine through the other.

And like everything else, cocktails have a long lost history, often called by various names, depending on the place being referred to.  From days of them being just a medicine for sailors and soldiers, to days of inventing ice as a great addition to the now named cocktails (it wasn't the only thing added to cocktails back then unlike the newfangled practices), cocktails have come a long way.
