The Picnic Rave is our favourite kind of chaos. A sunny park in Bangalore, a great playlist, blankets everywhere, and cold kombucha instead of cocktails. No bar, no hangover, just people actually talking to each other in daylight. The reel of it, shot by creator Tarini, became the most-loved thing we have ever posted, and it captured exactly what we were going for.

What is the Picnic Rave?

It is a daytime, alcohol-free get-together we throw outdoors, built around our drinks rather than a liquor counter. There is music, there are picnic blankets, and the only thing being poured is kombucha, shrub soda or ginger ale. The video crossed 3,700 likes, and somewhere in the comments a stranger said we turned a city park into a festival. We are still a little smug about that one.

The reel that started it all

The day went wide because of Tarini, the creator behind @tarinily, who filmed and cut it with the caption "putting the BANG in Bangalore." Her edit did what no ad of ours could: it let people feel the energy of the afternoon through their phones. People we had never met started asking when and where the next one was. That is the whole point of working with creators who actually get the vibe instead of just reading a brief.

Why is alcohol-free socialising suddenly everywhere in India?

Because a lot of us want the evening without the after-effects. India's non-alcoholic drinks market hit roughly 34.7 billion dollars in 2025 and is now growing faster than alcohol. In Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi, younger crowds are going sober-curious, and zero-proof drinks already make up 15 to 20 percent of sales at some premium restaurants. A daytime park rave with kombucha in hand is simply where that mood naturally lands.

What makes one of these actually fun?

After a few of them, we think it comes down to three things. First, a drink with personality, because a fermented kombucha or a tangy shrub soda beats a flat lime soda every time. Second, a relaxed, outdoor, daytime setting that does not pressure anyone. Third, and most important, community over consumption. The afternoon is about the people and the music, and the drink is just the thing in everyone's hand while it happens.
